Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics of al-Farabi Kazakh National University has held International Online Conference on “Modern issues of genetic stability and variability: theory and practice”.

Conference location: Hall # 535, Building # 6, Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, Kazakh National University, 71 al-Farabi Ave., Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan.

Date : 18th November 2016, 2.30- 5.30 p.m.

Professor Vimal Carani has presented his brilliant talk on Modern Nutrigenetics and Personalized Nutrition. Immediate output of this report has been agreement with Prof. Carani to arrange a round table or workshop dedicated to this special topic to be in October 2017 at al-Farabi University with online switching of experts from EU, US, CIS, Thailand, India, Pakistan and other interested parties.

Then Dr. Aizhan Zhussupova, reader of our department, who is currently accomplishing her al-Farabi-Newton fellowship in Great Britain, has switched on from John Innes Centre, Norwich, UK to talk about her research with Brachypodium sp.

Finally Mr. Izzat Smekenov in frame of last section of the conference, “Youth to G-global education” has reported on a part of his current molecular research and analysis of protein glycosylation sites in specific proteins in accord with his ongoing Ph.D. fellowship under Prof. Amageldy Bissenbayev’s supervision. Prof. Thierry Berges, University of Poitiers, France has contributed by his lecture on genetic transformation of bacteria with exogeneous genes for students and the fate of yeast cell apoptosis caused by mutations for teachers. Participants have kindly uploaded their presentations, videos and supplementaries. Final account will be posted later.
